Rafael Natal shows
Born in Brussels in the 80’s from Italian parents, Rafael has been immersed in electronic music since the age of 10, attracted by the new musical technologies and the new sounds that come from them.
He started in the Brussels nightlife as a dancer, this experience brought him a wide knowledge of the Belgian electronic scene, it was for him a huge source of inspiration by these numerous Belgian and international artists like: Mackenzie, Yves Deruyter, Phi Phi, but also Age of Love, Carl Cox, Tiësto, Ellen Allien & many other Berlin artists.
At 25 years old he wants to make others dance, he first practices by mixing in his room from morning till night in front of a wall with a double CD player and a recuperated mixing desk while training his ear to calibrate the right BPM and make a perfect selection of music for the Brussels clubs. The beginnings were difficult, but as Rafael says: « in life you have to do everything to reach your goals ».
Soon he was mixing in the trendy cafés of the capital but he needed new inspirations which he found in Berlin where he spent a little less than a year mixing and listening to the greatest in the most atypical places of this city, precursor of new trends. He mixed a lot, he tested new things and dropped demos in every corner of Berlin. This city was a very important chapter in his life, he jumped in without thinking, knowing that it was a step to take to reach his goals.
After sharing his music he returned to Brussels, he resumed his DJ set career and organized many parties. He works in collaboration with other DJs but also with visual artists and performers to create experimental soundtracks during their performances. It is a work of introspection to find the right notes to give to a suggested emotion. This is where he gets his foot in the door of production, the next goal is to make people dance to his own music, which is in the process of becoming a reality with indie disco, nu-disco and electronic sounds. An album that will be released in the coming year.
